Situated along the eastern shore of Lake Okeechobee, Canal Point is primarily an agricultural community with fewer than 400 residents. It is known for its sugarcane, and is where the U.S. Department of Agriculture first located its Sugarcane Field Station over 100 years ago.
The reason the Department of Agriculture chose Canal Point was for its moderate temperate, which was further enhanced by Lake Okeechobee. Unfortunately, the moderate temperatures also make Canal Point attractive to a number of insects and other pests. If you need help getting rid of them, call us at (561) 791-0263.
